Abstract

1471347 Reciprocating pumps BAKER PERKINS HOLDINGS Ltd 18 Aug 1975 [22 Aug 1974] 36985/74 Heading F1A [Also in Divisions A4 and B5] A depositor 10 for viscious liquid confectionary is mounted above a conveyer 11 with a series of moulds 12 and comprises a hopper with a plunger pump 18 and an outlet valve composed of a plate 23 movable with the hopper in the direction of the conveyer until it engages stops 26, 27 to open or close the valve. The plate is fricionally engaged in a dove-tail slot 24 at the base of the hopper. The depositor may have several plunger pumps side-byside. In operation the plate engages the stop 26 during a depositing stroke, Fig. 8, before the end of the stroke of the hopper in the conveyer direction A so as to cut off the confectionary supply. On the return stroke the hopper and plate move together, Fig. 6 (not shown), until the stop 27 is engaged to open the valve. A heater 27 is provided at the hopper outlet.
