Abstract

1403692 Reciprocating pumps HENRY HEIDE Inc 3 Jan 1974 [15 March 1973] 265/74 Heading F1A A pump, e.g. for dispensing confectionery materials into moulds (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), on a conveyer 11, comprises pistons 42 reciprocated in cylinders 41 communicating with an oscillating valve 45 which is movable by a rack 64 between the position shown, in which a supply channel 49 communicates with cylinder openings 48, and a second position in which valve passages 50 connect openings 48 to discharge passages 53 communicating with pairs of outlets 78 via passages 90, channel 49 being in continuous communication with a supply pipe 22 and a return pipe 28. The ends of channel 49 are shaped to provide a free flow-path for the material. Supply pipe 22 is connected to a feedpump (18) drawing from a reservoir (12), and return pipe 28 returns excess material to the reservoir. A plurality of pumps are connected together and supplied by a common feedpump. For cleaning, the reservoir is filled with cleaning liquid which is circulated through the pump system.
