Springs, arrangement of.-A balanced elastic suspension for the axles of motor and other vehicles comprises a frame or lever e, Fig. 1, adapted to oscillate around an axis carried by a bracket b fixed to the chassis a, the displacement of the frame e being resisted by an arrangement of laminated springs c, c<1>, d, d' the extremities of which are provided with rollers i, i<1>, j, j<1> bearing against the frame. The springs are secured to the bracket b and the rollers roll in grooves k, k<1>, l, l<1> in the frame, which is secured to the axle h of the wheels g and oscillates on a sleeve f, Fig. 4, fitted into a bore in the bracket b, there being some friction between the frame and the lateral faces t, t<1> of the bracket. The arrangement is shown applied to a front axle, but may be applied to a rear axle driven by a cardan shaft or by a chain, the chain wheel being concentric with the axis of the frame and a chain tightening device being provided. To reduce the wheel base, the axle may be attached to the frame between the points of support of the springs.
