1470963 Fire extinguisher mountings V E SENTINELLA 11 April 1974 [12 April 1973 18 Oct 1973] 44433/76 and 44434/76 Divided out of 1470962 Heading A4B A mounting for a fire extinguisher 8 comprises an upright spine 2, a base-plate 3 projecting forwardly from the spine, a pair of levers 4 pivotally mounted on the base-plate 3 and carrying a pressure plate 7, a first pair of links 5 pivotally connected at one end to the spine 2 and at the opposite end to a first end of a second pair of links 6 integral with an operating handle 10, the second of the second pair of links 6 being pivotally connected to the levers 4, the first and second pairs of links 5, 6 defining an over-centre linkage movable through a dead-centre position between a first position in which the pressure plate 7 is horizontally spaced from the spine 2 and a second position in which the plate 7 is less horizontally spaced therefrom, the first position defining an unlocked position and the second position defining a locked position in which the plate 7 presses against the front of the extinguisher to force the rear of the extinguisher against an abutment 9. A foot pedal 11 is attached to the operating handle 10.
