Abstract

147,093. Barboussat, E. G. July 10, 1914, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Straight-bar machines. -Heel and toe fashioning is effected by means of auxiliary pressers 7 which are separately mounted, one to each fashioning needle on rods 8 supported on the ends of levers 11 and individually controlled by means of keys in a suitable key - board. The parts 7 work in cut-away portions 6 of the main presser 5. The narrowing operation is effected by throwing out the pressers 7 one by one and leaving double stitches on the corresponding needles and the widening is effected by throwing the pressers into action again. By this means all varieties of stockings &c. can be completed on the machine in a continuous operation.
