Abstract

1470928 Brassieres H K BONDING FABRIC CO Ltd 3 Sept 1975 36321/75 Heading A3V A seamless brassiÞre cup comprises two thermally moulded separable superimposed layers of the same or different composite fabrics A, B each composite layer A, B comprising a non-woven fibrous filling layer 2, 4 bonded to a woven or knitted layer 1, 3; layers 2, 4 being in contact with each other. Layers 1, 3 are knitted thermosetting polyamide and layers 2, 4 thermosetting polyester. Layer 1 is thicker than layer 3. Layer 2 is denser and thinner than layer 4. Layers 1, 3 are adhesively bonded to layers 2, 4 respectively. A flat piece of fabric B is laid on a flat piece of fabric A over a concave cupshaped mould section and the layers pegged together. A convex mould section, preheated to 130‹C, is inserted in the concave section for 10 seconds. Layers 1, 3 stretch and layers 2, 4 mould together. The mould is opened, pegs removed and the convex section, again preheated, is replaced for a further 10 seconds. The cup flanges are cut off with scissors.
