Abstract
1470913 Ammonia synthesis catalyst SIRI SOC ITALIANA RICHERCHE INDUSTRIALI SpA 7 Feb 1975 [19 Feb 1974] 5306/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division Cl] An ammonia synthesis catalyst comprises spherical granules is formed by mixing a charge of magnetite, alumina, potash, calcia and magnesia, melting at not lower than 1600‹C, cooling in air, crushing to a powder adding water and bentonite, granulating in a dish granulator to form spherical granules, dehydrating at 100-200‹C and sintering at 1250- 1350‹C in an argon atmosphere. The charge may contain alumina, potash, calcia and magnesia in the quantities 2.0-3.5% wt, 0.8-2% wt, 2-3.5% wt and 0.1-0.4% wt, respectively based on the weight of magnetite.
