Abstract

1,225,976. Prilled fertilizer compositions. FISONS FERTILIZERS Ltd. 21 Nov., 1968 [24 Aug., 1967], No. 39018/67. Heading C1B. Fertilizer material containing ammonium nitrate and urea is prilled by causing droplets of molten composition at a temperature greater than 75‹ C. to fall through a zone containing a dust-bearing gas and/or into a bed of dust particles maintained in a state of fluidization or incipient fluidization, said dust-bearing gas and/or said fluidized dust containing potassium chloride dust and optionally dust of limestone, sand, mica, bentonite, gypsum, talc, clays, other fertilizers, cements, earths and/or polyethylene. The molten composition also may contain ammonium sulphate, mono- or diammonium phosphate, potassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, sodium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, magnesium carbonate and/or magnesium oxide. The gas used may be air or nitrogen and temperatures up to 140‹ C., e.g. 90‹ to 120‹ C., are disclosed. Specification 1,183,938 is referred to.
