1476642 Zirconium hydrous oxides CCI LIFE SYSTEMS Inc 30 May 1974 05699/77 Divided out of 1476641 Heading C1A Particulate zirconium hydrous oxide is produced by incorporating particles of a watersoluble zirconium compound other than the oxychloride (e.g. the nitrate, sulphate, basic sulphate or acetate) into an aqueous solution of a base (e.g. NaOH or NH 4 OH), allowing the components to react, and recovering the particulate zirconium hydrous oxide. Preferred particle size for the starting zirconium compound is 12 to 325 mesh Tyler. The product may be used as an ion-exchange material, and in ointments, skin creams and anti-perspirants.
