Abstract
1470671 Atomizer nozzles CENTRAL ELECTRICITY GENERATING BOARD 7 July 1975 [8 July 1974] 30175/74 Heading F4T A multi-outlet jet atomizer for an oil burner comprises a body 10 having a plurality of nozzle inserts 15 arranged around an axis A-A of the body and secured therein, an atomizing fluid inlet 11 in the body having an outlet 12 for each insert and one or more oil galleries 19 in the body, supplied by a passage 20. The atomizing fluid is steam; and the nozzles 15, which are convergent-divergent, are screwed into the body and engage cup-shaped elements 14 which have a plurality of ducts 22 therein. In a modification, elements 14, Fig. 3, are omitted and the inserts 36 have ends 39 which form metering slots 40. There may be a separate gallery 33 for each insert, or a single gallery common to all inserts may be provided. The body 10 may be fabricated.
