1470648 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL 22 April 1974 [20 Jan 1973] 3081/73 Heading F1F In an I.C. engine that is generally similar to that disclosed in Specification 1289479 master pistons 13 are pivotally connected to crank arms 9 on an output shaft 6, and slave pistons 15 are pivotally and sealingly connected to the master pistons at 15a, the oscillating motion of the pistons as they revolve with transverse seals 13a, 13b in sliding contact with the working-chamber wall 1 being controlled by rollers 16a, 16b on the master pistons engaging with "external" cams 17a, 17b situated externally of the working chamber, the locus of the roller axes being closer to the axis of said chamber than is the locus of the said seals, and the profiles of the cams being smaller than that of the wall 1. In other embodiments the rollers are on the slave pistons instead of the master ones, Fig. 2 (not shown), there are three pistons each with its own crank arm and rollers on each piston engage with "internal" cams, Fig. 3 (not shown), and the rollers are mounted on links pivotally attached to either the master pistons or the slave pistons and engage with "internal" cams, Fig. 4 (not shown).
