Abstract
1470116 Continuous casting KLOCKNERWERKE AG 10 July 1974 [24 Aug 1973 23 Nov 1973] 30478/74 Heading B3F A pouring tube 2 has an elliptical cross-section (as shown there are also integral projections 4) and outlets 3, in its lower part where it is to be immersed, located on the major axis of the ellipse. The internal cross-section is elliptical or circular and at the inlet end it may be circular both internally and externally. The circular bore may taper down to 60 mm. at the outlet end. The outlets 3 are inclined upwardly away from the closed bottom of the tube 2 to discharge towards slag on the surface of Al-killed steel in the mould. The integral projections 4 may extend from the outlet region upwardly along at least the length of the tube which is immersed in the mould bath.
