Abstract
1469334 Making rod and wire SOUTHWIRE CO 16 April 1974 16623/74 Heading B3A [Also in Division C7] An electrical conductor having a miminum conductivity of 57% IACS is formed of an alloy containing in per cent by weight: Preferably the alloy also contains 0À3-1À3% of either Fe or Ni, when the other is added to the list of optional additives in a permissible amount of 0À001-1%. The conductor is formed by continuously casting the alloy into a moving mould formed between the peripheral groove of a casting wheel and a metal belt, and immediately hot-working the cast body into rod, possibly followed by drawing into wire.
