Abstract

1468759 Cleaning head-lamp lenses CIBIE PROJECTEURS 10 June 1974 [13 July 1973] 25673/74 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] A vehicle head-lamp has a lens wiping system including a motor 1 for continuously rotating a crank 2 pivotally connected to a lever 3 pivoted to a transmission element 4 having a guide surface, e.g. provided by a slot 5, which pivots about a fixed stop 6, the element 4 also having a follower, e.g. a pivot pin 7, co-operating with a fixed guide, e.g. a slot 8, and the element 4 forming or being coupled to movable arm carrying a wiper element 10 and transmitting reciprocating movement thereto. In a second embodiment the element 4 is connected to a T-shaped member (12) Fig. 2 (not shown) carrying the wiper element 10 and having two pins (13) engaged in a guide (14) which is curved so that the element 10 is retained in contact with a curved front surface of the head-lamp lens throughout the wiping sweep. In a further embodiment the element 4 is coupled by a parallelogram linkage to an L-shaped member (15) Fig. 3 (not shown) carrying the wiper element 10, a curved guide (17) again causing the element 10 to follow the curve of the lens.
