Abstract
1468957 Cleaning vehicle head-lamp lenses CIBIE PROJECTEURS 24 May 1974 [16 July 1973] 23365/74 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] A motor vehicle head-lamp wiper system includes a two part transmission member 8, 11, carrying a wiper element 12 on the part 11 and mounted for reciprocable movement relative to the head-lamp lens 2, the parts 8, 11 being locked together in two different relative positions and changing from one relative position to the other during reciprocation of the transmission member. A motor 4 drives the member 8, 11 via a linkage 5, 6 to oscillate it about a pivot pin 10 engaged in a slot 9 in the part 8 which is connected to the part 11 by a pivot pin 13 engaged in a slot 14. As the member 8, 11 oscillates, the pin 13 travels along the slot 14 which at its ends is parallel to the lens surface and at its middle is formed as an arc centred on the middle position of the wiper element 12 on the lens. When the element 12 reaches its middle position, a pin 16 Fig. 2, pressed into one of two holes 15 in the part 8 by engagement with a cam track 19, is permitted by a depression 20 in the track to be released by a spring 17 from the hole 15, so that the part 11 pivots relatively to the part 8, with the blade 12 remaining stationary until the pin 16 is again pressed by the cam track 19 so that it enters the other hole 15 in the part 8.
