Abstract
1468362 Alkylation of p - aminophenol KODAK Ltd 24 Oct 1974 [30 Oct 1973] 50333/73 Heading C2C A method for the preparation of a compound having the formula wherein R and R 1 are the same or different alkyl radicals having from 1 to 16 carbon atoms, or together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a carbocyclic structure having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms in the ring comprises reacting a ketone of formula with p-aminophenol monosulphate and sulphuric acid, or with p-aminophenol bisulphate and catalytically hydrogenating the resulting amine. By "p-aminophenol monosulphate" is meant the addition salt formed by two molecules of p-aminophenol and one molecule of sulphuric acid.
