1,263,636. Bis-perfluoroalkanoylphenylenediamine derivatives. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 25 Feb., 1970 [25 Feb., 1969], No. 9012/70. Heading C2C. [Also in Division D1] The invention relates to bis-perfluoroalkanoylphenylenediamine derivatives of the general formula in which R F and R<SP>1</SP> F , which may be the same or different, each represent a perfluorinated alkyl radical having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms and R 1 represents the group -NCO Compounds claimed per se 2,4-di-perfluorooctanoyl - amino - phenylisocyanate; 3,4 - diperfluoro - octanoyl - amino - 1 - N,N - ethylene - ureido - benzene. In an example perfluoro-octanoic acid chloride prepared by reacting benzotrichloride and perfluorooctanoic acid is reacted with 3,4-diamino-1-nitrobenzene to obtain 3,4 - diperfluoro - octanoyl - amino- 1-nitrobenzene which is hydrogenated to obtain the corresponding amine compound and then phosgenated to obtain the corresponding isocyanate compound. The latter may be reacted with ethylene-imine to prepare 3,4-di-perfluorooctanoyl - amino - 1 - N, N - ethylene - ureidobenzene. Other examples describe alternative methods of preparation.
