Abstract
1467983 Agitating articles SKODA OBOROVY PODNIK 6 May 1974 [24 May 1973] 19894/74 Heading B8S A device for agitating rod shaped articles, e.g. cigarettes, during feeding, comprises interengaging sets of parallel spaced agitating walls 7, 11 oscillatable in directions opposite to each other to assist the flow of articles through channels defined by the fixed walls 20, in alignment with channels defined by the walls 7, 11. Each wall 7, 11 has projections 19 on its lower edge for engagement in gaps in the upper edge of the aligned fixed wall 20. Each set of walls 7, 11 is secured to a respective cross beam 6, 10 mounted at its ends to respective arms 12, 15 pivoted to fixed points 13, 16. Each cross beam 6, 10 pivotally carries a roller 4, 8 constantly in engagement with a non-circular drive roller 3, whereby rotation of the latter causes oscillation of the cross beams and hence agitating walls, the two rollers 4, 8 being spring biased towards each other. In the modification of Fig. 3 and 4 (not shown) the pivoted arms are each replaced by a pair of spaced flat springs.
