Abstract

1482821 Web accumulators LOOPCO INDUSTRIES Inc 15 Jan 1975 [28 March 1974] 1844/75 Heading B8R A web accumulator comprises two circular arrays of rollers 14, 16, Fig. 1, for receiving and forming respective outer and inner convolutions 18, 19, of the web separated by a free loop 15 and, an arbor means 20 for receiving the web from the inner convolutions, the arbor being mounted for angular adjustment relative to the path taken by the web on its way to a processing line. The arbor means is formed by a polygonal roller 32, whose polygonal faces 34A, ..., 34M, Fig. 3, each support a set of guide rollers 60A, ..., 60M, the axes of the rollers 61A, ..., 61D, in each set of guide rollers being inclined to the axis of the arbor means. Latter has one of its ends mounted on a fixed pivot 28 and the other on an adjustable pivot 42 acted upon by an adiustment means 40.
