Abstract

1466967 Stacking booklets IZDATELSTVO IZVESTIA SOVETOV DEPUTATOV TRUDYASCHIKHSYA SSSR 27 Nov 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 51295/74 Heading B8R Booklets emerging from a folder 1 and directed selectively to one of two spiders 2 and 3 are collected in receivers 6 and 7 each of which, at the commencement and finishing of a stack is supplied with stiff boards 24 from magazines 25. Each completed stack with a board 24 at top and bottom is discharged on to a pallet 11 carried on endless conveyer 32. The pallets 11 have corrugated surfaces to permit the receiver tines 9 and 10 to drop below the pallet surfaces so releasing the stacks. The receiver tines are lowered incrementally as the stacks are formed, the switch 4 directing the booklets so that one receiver is being filled whilst the other is being emptied and supplied with a fresh board from a magazine 25. The conveyer 32 is flanked by two vertically oriented conveyers carrying plates which support the sides of the completed stacks as these are carried towards stack press 34.
