1466392 Programme interruption control OKUMA MACHINERY WORKS Ltd 12 March 1974 [14 May 1973] 37434/76 Divided out of 1466391 Heading G4A In a computer having a memory 602 for programmes and data, there being facility for a program to be interrupted in response to a request L 0 , or L 1 , ... or L n , a decision circuit 607 in interruption control unit 612 decides; receiving program instructions otherwise passing to decoder 605 controlling arithmetic unit 606; whether the program instruction succeeding the one being performed is a conditional branch instruction BRC. Should such instruction be recognized as BRC the interruption request is stored until the BRC instruction is executed. If the instruction is not BRC, the instruction register 604 is cleared, and an interruption fixed address INT-AD 0 , or, ... or INT-AD q is transmitted to program counter 601 via unit 603, the contents of memory 602 corresponding to the interruption fixed address being read out, immediately after the completion of the instruction currently being executed. Unit 610 determines a priority order for interruptions.
