Abstract

1465433 Yarn texturising air jet ENTERPRISE MACHINE & DEVELOPMENT CORP 21 Jan 1975 [25 Jan 1974] 2651/75 Heading D1F A yarn texturing turbulent air jet including an elongate housing having a central bore 11, a venturi 15 supported in the bore and having an inwardly tapering conical surface 16 defining the exit end of a turbulence chamber, a yarn guiding needle 23 positioned in the bore and having an axial yarn guiding channel 32, and an air inlet nipple 13 is characterised in that a conical opening 36 extends from the inner end of the needle 23 and tapers towards the entrance and terminates at yarn guide channel 32. The production of crimps curls and loops in the yarn is therefore facilitated. Preferably the bevelled outer surface 35 of the needle and the conical surface 16 of the venturi are at 30‹ to the axis of bore 11 whilst the sides of conical opening 36 are at 45‹ to the bore axis. The position of venturi 15 is adjusted by cap 20 and locked by ring 21. Eyelet 18 and ceramic eyelet 27 provide wear resistant surfaces.
