Abstract
1465182 Refrigerating CARRIER CORP 5 Feb 1974 [5 March 1973] 5312/74 Heading F4H In a continuous cycle absorption refrigeration system including a generator 10, a condenser 11, an evaporator 12 and an absorber 13, a refrigerant vapour pressure control passage 55 having a control valve 56 extends from the downstream side of a weak solution pump 38 to the upstream side of a refrigerant pump 25 for passing absorbent solution to the evaporator 12. The valve 56 is directly responsive to an operating condition which is a function of the concentration of absorbent solution in the absorber for opening the valve 56 to add absorbent solution to the refrigerant in the evaporator when the concentration of absorbent solution in the absorber reaches a predetermined level. In the preferred embodiment, the valve 56 is operationally connected to a level control sensor 57, 58 sensing a predetermined low level in the evaporator 12. The system also includes a concentration control passage 50 having a valve 51 directly responsive to a level control sensor 52, 53 sensing a higher level of refrigerant in the evaporator. The valve 51 is disposed in passage 50 for the purpose of controlling the flow of refrigerant into the absorbent solution circuit. A condensate dilution passage 60 is provided for the purpose of bleeding a portion of the refrigerant liquid from the refrigerant recirculation passage 24 into condensate passage 22.
