Abstract

1464811 Hydraulic conveyors CONTINENTAL OIL CO 25 Feb 1975 [18 April 1974] 7822/75 Heading FIR [Also in Division F2] In a mine slurry conveying system the water and slurry hoses 24, 23 are supported by a monorail from the mine roof. A loop in the hoses to accommodate movement of the slurry hopper 14 is formed by transferring the hose supports from one mono-rail 25 to a parallel mono-rail 26 by means of a movable conveyor 33 powered by a vehicle 34, the conveyor comprises sections 63, 64 pivoted together and comprising side frames 55 and bottom member 56 carrying side rollers 57 and bottom rollers 59, section 64 also carries entry/ exit support rollers 60. The hoses are normally supported from the rail by hooks as shown in Fig. 7 from which they are detached and attached as they enter and leave the conveyor 33. The hose supports include a wheel 95 which is engageable with a thrust plate 88 where the hoses have to make a turn as shown in Fig. 6.
