Lenses.-A photographic lens comprises four cemented members, the surfaces of which, with the exception of the middle one r3, turn their concave sides towards the diaphragm. Each of the outer surfaces r1, r5 has a weaker curvature than the adjacent surface r2, r4. The refractive index of the member I is smaller than the refractive index of II, and the refractive index of III is greater than the refractive index of the member II or IV. The lens has sufficient chromatic correction, high astigmatic and curvature corrections over a large field, and a comparatively large aperture. Two such lenses may be combined.
