Abstract

1464614 Testing brakes INSTITUTUL DE STUDII SI CERCETARI TRANSPORTURI 5 June 1974 24989/74 Heading G1W [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for use with a roller brake testing stand comprises a double acting hydraulic ram 1 connectible to a vehicle axle by a bar 2 and spaced coupling devices 3, and an hydraulic circuit for supplying hydraulic fluid to the ram at a predetermined pressure. The ram may be used to clamp the vehicle against the rollers to prevent wheel slip and to raise the vehicle from the rollers to allow the brakes to be adjusted. The hydraulic circuit comprises an oil reservoir 6, a pump 7, a pressure regulator A, a manometer 12, and fluid distributing devices 9, 10. The pressure regulator Figs. 2, 3 (not shown) is an adjustable pressure relief valve connected between the hydraulic circuit and the reservoir, and includes a pointer which indicates both the pressure and the force applied by the ram.
