[Also in Division F1] In an apparatus for bleeding hydraulic systems, a pressure vessel 11 is charged with the volume of hydraulic fluid, a compressed air flexible line 15 is adapted to be connected to the pressure vessel from a source of compressed air (for example the spare wheel 16 of a vehicle) and a liquid pressure line 20 connects the pressure vessel 11 with a master cylinder 1 of the hydraulic system to be serviced. In operation, when a valve 18, associated with the spare wheel connector 17, is opened the hydraulic fluid in the pressure vessel 11 is forced through the liquid pressure line 20 to a cap 21 which is adapted to be screwed on to a master cylinder reservoir 1 of an hydraulic braking system when the normal screwed cover 3 is removed. The hydraulic fluid then passes through a supply line 4 leading to an hydraulic wheel brake cylinder 5 to be bled through a bleed screw valve 9. When the hydraulic circuit is free of air bubbles the bleed screw valve 9 is closed and the valve connector 17 is removed. The whole operation may be conducted by a single operator using the above apparatus.
