Abstract

1463502 Bleeding brake systems R WHITEHEAD 21 Oct 1974 [19 Oct 1973] 48943/73 Heading F2F In the bleeding of an hydraulic brake system a container 1 closed by a non-return valve 2 and containing compressed air 3 and brake fluid 4 is attached to the reservoir of a master cylinder (not shown), there being provided means (not shown) for opening the valve 2, and a bleed valve is opened on one of the vehicle wheels, fluid being forced through the system by the pressure of the liquid in the container. The container may alternatively house a flexible container therein for the fluid, there being compressed gas between the two containers.
