Abstract

1464395 Tensioners APPLIED POWER Inc 26 March 1974 [26 March 1973] 13426/74 Heading F2G A device for anchoring and tensioning a chain 2 comprises a body 10 of metal and formed with two spaced upright walls between which is mounted a chain coupler 12 for pivotal movement on a pin 13, the coupler having a hooklike projection for engagement with a link of the chain 2 and a lobe portion 22 positioned opposite a flat surface 20 on the body 10 so that a wedge 30 with convergent surfaces 31, 32, when driven between the surface 20 and lobe 22 will pivot the coupler 12 to take up any slack in the chain 2. The body 10 may be secured to a support surface by means of a chain 5 engaging in slot 41 therein, or by a bolt (not shown) engaging with a slot 51.
