Abstract

1464271 Pressure gauges BOC INTERNATIONAL Ltd 15 Sept 1975 [5 Aug 1974] 34384/74 Heading G1L A device to indicate whether a vessel e.g. a gas cylinder is filled to a predetermined amount comprises a transparent body 10 having a conical surface 16 on the pressure-facing side which normally reflects totally all light entering from the viewing side surface 12. Pressure from the vessel is applied to the undersurface of a resilient conical disc 18 containing reinforcing elements 22, 24 and when pressure is above a certain value indicating a satisfactory charge, it presses the disc against the surface 16, obliterating the internal reflective capacity and giving a visual indication. A leak in the disc is signalled by gas escaping through a passage 28 to cause whistling.
