Abstract

1358688 Pressure vessels BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd 21 Sept 1971 [24 Sept 1970] 45631/70 Heading F4P [Also in Division G1] In a pressure indicator for indicating whether or not a gas is under pressure in a container a spring loaded piston 10 carries a rubber, resilient or elastomeric indicator member 20 which is pressed by gas pressure, acting on member 14, against a transparent glass, or other transparent material, prism 26 so that when the container is full of gas the outline of the indicator 20 is visible through the aperture 30, 32 but when the container is empty the member 20 does not contact the prism 26 and is not visible. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the indicator member 20 has a conical end which can, under pressure, be pressed into an inwardly formed conical end in an indicating member.
