Abstract

1464134 Fuel injection pumps HOLEC NV 8 March 1974 [14 March 1973] 10585/74 Heading F1A The or each pumping piston 22 of a fuel injection pump is reciprocated in a respective pumping chamber 29 by an oscillating armature 18, oscillation of the armature about a pivot 3 being caused by alternately energized electromagnets 2. The pistons 22 shown are arranged in opposed pairs, the pistons of each pair being fixed to the opposite ends of a yoke member 20 coupled to the free end 5 of a respective armature 18. Adjustable stops 26, 33 determine the strokes of the pistons 22. Energization of each electromagnet 2 is controlled by an individual monostable multi-vibrator circuit, Fig. 3 (not shown). Each circuit is connected to receive a control pulse from a common pulse producer(34). The pulse producer comprises a contact (15) rotatable by an associated engine and arranged sequentially to contact fixed contacts (16) each connected to one of the circuits.
