Abstract

1464115 Cleaning xerographic surfaces XEROX CORP 19 Aug 1974 [24 Aug 1973] 36392/74 Heading G2H In a cleaning system, of the kind in which a cleaning blade 16 is cyclically oscillated laterally of the normal direction of motion of the surface 12 of a rotating xerographic drum 14 between two substantially spaced apart translation end dwell positions of the blade 16 on the surface 12, the drive means for cyclic lateral oscillation of the blade includes means for automatically multiple slightly shifting the positions on the surface 12 of the two end dwell positions without stopping the blade motion between the end dwell positions. The drive means comprises a rotating multi-lobe cam 24 with a cam follower 28 connected by a pull rod 32 to the blade 16, the cam 22 having lobes of varying dimensions irregularly spaced from one another.
