1462662 Brazing JOHNSON MATTHEY & CO Ltd 17 Jan 1975 [24 Jan 1974] 33092/76 Divided out of 1462661 Heading B3R [Also in Division C7] A brazing alloy contains, apart from impurities, in terms of weight per cent, Co 0À2-10; Mn 0À2-15; Zn 10-45 and optionally Ni 0À2-10, the balance being copper. The alloy may be used to braze cutting tips or inserts to or into shanks to make cutting tools (e.g. rock drills). The example describes brazing a carbide insert into a groove of a steel shank when the joint gap is preferably at least 0À004 inch.
