Abstract

1462524 Trenching apparatus J H PATERSON 24 Jan 1975 [18 Feb 1974] 7307/74 Heading E1F Trenching apparatus comprises a plough 10 so adapted for mounting on an earth-ripping tyne 12 drawn by a tractor that the plough will be located substantially behind the tyne and will be arranged to remove earth broken out by the tyne as the tyne and the plough, when mounted on the tyne pass through earth to form a trench therein. Preferably the transverse profile of the plough is substantially similar to the transverse profile of the trench to be formed by the apparatus. The plough may comprise at least one forward facing cutting edge 34 leading rearwards to an upwardly and rearwardly inclined ramp surface 30 terminating in use of the apparatus, above ground level at a guide element 40 for deflecting earth sideways clear of the trench being formed by the apparatus.
