In an apparatus for carrying out the method dry Portland cement is fed by a hopper 1 into a mixing chamber 2 having a liquid supply nozzle 5 with elongate rectangular outlet, a discharge conduit 3 from the mixing chamber being aligned with the nozzle 5. The nozzle is mounted in a rotatable sleeve 7 the rear end of which carries a calibrated dial 8 and handle 9 for adjusting the nozzle to a required position.
