Abstract

1461522 Water heaters HALLER-MEURERWERKE AG 15 July 1974 [17 July 1973] 31176/74 Heading F4A A gas-fired water heater, of the type in which a combustion gas tube 2 extends to an outlet from a burner 3 through a cylindrical water tank 1, is provided with a rectangular box-like housing 5 which encloses the tank and the burner but allows burner air to enter via a space 9 around the tube 2, a space 7 above the tank, and spaces between the housing corners, the tank, and insulation 6. In Fig. 1, a balanced flue arrangement is provided for mounting the heater on a wall and the insulating material 6 extends around the water tank in an annular layer of uniform thickness. Fig. 2 shows a flue arrangement for fireplace mounting: two funnels 16, 16<SP>1</SP> are employed, the upper funnel 16 being supported by bars 20 above a baffle plate 22.
