Abstract

1460724 Removing garden litter D R DIXON 18 Jan 1974 [25 Jan 1973] 3931/73 Addition to 1413961 Heading A1E [Also in Division El] Litter is directed by an air jet from the nozzle of a duct 1 into a collector 9, the duct enclosing a motor-driven impeller which develops an air pressure difference of not more than 4 inches water gauge, the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the impeller to that of the nozzle being in the range 1:1 to 1:1/3 and the nozzle having a height to width ratio in the range 1:1 to 1:2, the device including a throttle for the motor. The collector may comprise a mesh cage, Fig. 2 (not shown) or the type of device shown in Fig. 1. A flexible skirt 7 is included. In a modification, Figure 3, the nozzle blows directly into the collector 28 via a tube 26 having a downwardly open orifice 27.
