Abstract

1459927 Locating and cutting traversed yarn before package doffing TOYODA JIDOSHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK 17 Jan 1974 02254/74 Heading DID A running, traversed yarn is located for cutting by forcibly moving the yarn, irrespective of its traverse direction, to a locating part of a guide extending along the traverse path, and cutting the yarn with a guidemounted cutter. As shown, Fig. 2, a yarn 2 running from an open end spinning unit is traversed by roller 35 onto a package 10. To permit package doffing, arm 15 bearing counterweight 33 is pivoted about pivot 11 to position 3' so that yarn 2 is traversed along guide 19. Solenoid 29 is then actuated to pivot arms 21, 22, Fig. 3, about pivot 18 to forcibly move the yarn into guide slot 20. The yarn cutter, which is a scissors-type cutter pivotable about pivot 18 and operable by solenoid 29 is then operated. One cut yarn end is sucked into suction nozzle 16. Plate 36, Fig. 1, then raises package 10 from released holder 9, the package is then transferred to plate 37 and carried to member 41 and then to a container. Bobbin catcher 5, rotated with plates 36, 37 by shaft 38, carries an empty bobbin 4 from mechanism 6 to holder 9.
