Abstract

1459479 Carbonating drinks A TODD [trading as BREWICON] 23 Oct 1975 [9 Aug 1974] 35278/74 Heading B1C A pill for use in carbonating drinks and containing constituents which react together in water to release carbon dioxide has a water soluble coating for delaying the reaction between the gas-generating constituents when the pill is introduced into a drink. The constituents may comprise sodium bicrabonate and citric acid or tartaric acid and the coating may be a hard sugar, edible plastics material or a preparation of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and glycerine. The pill may itself contain a flavouring constituent.
