Abstract

1459144 Bridge cranes DEMAG AG 26 April 1974 [26 April 1973] 18391/74 Heading B8B [Also in Division B7] A wheel axle 8 is mounted on a beam 2 by means of two members 3, 4 located on opposite sides of the beam and detachably secured together by bolts passing through the beam and screwed into nuts welded to the member 3. The beam has an open-ended slot 2c receiving the axle 8 and a locating pin is driven through aligned apertures drilled in the members and beam after assembly. The wheel is secured to the axle by circlips. As particularly described, a travelling bridge crane is supported by two longitudinal side members each comprising two beams 2 arranged back-to-back and embracing a track member 1 therebetween. Each beam is provided with wheels 11 running along a horizontal portion 1a of the member 1 and guide wheels 15 engaging a vertical portion 1b. The member 3 supports a buffer 12 and has eyes 13 receiving a hinge pin supporting a cleavis-shaped member 14 carrying the guide wheel 15. The cleavis member 14 includes a tongue 14b urged by spring 18 to maintain the guide wheel against member 1. The co-operating beams 2 are secured together by cross-bars 21 to prevent twisting.
