Abstract

1458894 Electromagnets SIEMENS AG 12 March 1974 [13 March 1973] 11066/74 Heading H1P An encased insulated electrical coil 1, e.g. for exciting a caustic solution pump has connecting lugs 8, 9, at its winding ends with annular self clamping resilient spacing members 2 to 5 encircling each side of the winding, which are slotted at, e.g. 6, 7 to be deformable for fitting over the coil. The members are of such thickness as to establish a required spacing from the inner surfaces of an injection mould, whereby the coil is encapsulated in homogeneous plastic material integral with the clamping members. The clamping members are of plastic material, e.g. polyamides, polyacetals; which may be of melting point lower than the temperature of the injection moulding material, so that an integral mass is formed.
