Abstract
1457987 Vending machines SIELAFF GmbH & CO AUTOMATENBAU HERRIEDEN 24 Feb 1975 [1 April 1974] 7582/75 Heading A4T A vending machine for rollable articles such as bottles comprises a magazine 1 which is inclined to a dispenser (not shown) whereby in use the articles roll through an opening 3 into the dispenser, the magazine 1 comprising front 4 and back 11 walls and a carrier 6 is pivotally mounted at 7 in the magazine, the carrier 6 having a front 8 and rear 9 article retaining border and the top surface of a support member 13 supports a stack of articles when located in the carrier 6. In operation, initially a sufficient number of articles is inserted from the front of the magazine 1 into the space between an adjustable guide 5 and the front border 8 of the carrier 6 that the bottom of the latter abuts the topmost of the articles to be thus retained in its position shown in Fig. 1 against the force of a spring 10, and then past the guide 5 and the border 8 a stack of articles is inserted into the carrier 6, this stack being a rear stack. A front stack of articles is then formed in the space between the guide 5 and border 8. When the dispenser commences operation a pivotally mounted lever 17 abuts a projection 21 on the carrier 6 to move the latter further back against the force of the spring 10 to prevent the front border 8 of the carrier 6 from interfering with the articles of the front stack as the latter move through the opening 3 into the dispenser and on depletion of the front stack the spring 10 causes clockwise rotation of the carrier 6 to its position shown in Fig. 2 (not shown) in which the-projection 21 abuts a stop 23 on the support member 13 and the articles of the rear stack in the carrier 6 can pass through the opening 3 into the dispenser. The adjustable guide 5 permits the size of the articles of the front stack to be varied and the carrier 6 and support member 13 are detachable from the magazine 1 to permit the latter to be used with articles which are not situated in two stacks.
