Abstract

1457964 Articulated railway wagons SOC NOUVELLE DES ATELIERS DE VENISSIEUX 25 March 1974 [10 May 1973] 13220/74 Heading B7L An articulative railway wagon comprises a plurality of chassis e.g. 1, 2, adjacent chassis being articulative by an articulation 3 permitting movement about horizontal and vertical axes and situated in the central longitudinal vertical plane of the chassis, the free end of each end chassis each being supported by conventional suspension 5 or 7 and wheeled axles 4 or 6 supported on a railway track, the coupled-ends of two adjacent chassis e.g. 1, 2 each resting by slide blocks 12 on smooth faces 13 or a common supporting frame 8 supportable by suspension 10 and a wheeled axle 9 on the railway track wherein the friction between the slide blocks 12 and the faces 13 is adjustable by a respective connecting rod 15 articulated at 16 to an element 17 of the chassis 1 and 2 which tie rod 15 passes with clearance through the frame 8. Tension of the rod 15 is adjusted by a nut 18 with the interpositioning of a washer 19. There may be more than three chassis.
