Abstract

1457504 Casting composite articles; making electrical coils F D LOWEN 30 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 55667/72 Headings B3F and B3A [Also in Division H2] A shaded pole stator of an electric motor is provided with shading coils or loops (c) by casting or moulding the coils or loops directly on to the stator. The latter may be provided with holes or slots (A and B) into which the cast or moulded material enters whereby the coils or loops become locked firmly in position. The coils or loops are formed, with integral projections, (P) by means of which end shields, internal oiling arrangements, coil insulations, or air baffles may be secured to the coils or loops, e.g. an apertured flange on one of the members may be fitted over the said projections and secured by peening or punching over. The coils or loops may be formed of aluminium or metallized or sintered metal impregnated plastics material.
