Abstract

1457087 Double-walled pipelines MOTOREN UND TURBINEN-UNION FRIEDRICHSHAFEN GmbH 3 March 1975 [7 March 1974] 8771/75 Heading F2P A double-walled pipeline, for use as highpressure piping for fuel injection pipelines, comprises two coaxial stainless steel pipes 11, 12, separated by a coil 13 of flat plastics strip material being wound about the inner pipe with a pitch substantially equal to twice the width of the strip. Preferably the ratio of width to thickness of the plastics strip is not less than 5 : 1. The open pitch of the coil provides a bleeder duct 14 which in the case of a leakage in pipe 11 guides the escaping fuel to a storage tank.
