Abstract
1456912 Diazotype apparatus; absorption of exhaust ammonia GAF CORP 21 Feb 1974 [15 March 1973] 8047/74 Heading G2X [ Also in Division B1] In an exhaust gas removal system exhaust gases e.g. ammonia from a duplicating machine, pass along conduits 2 to a manifold 4, from the manifold to a pump 1 and finally along a conduit 7 into a gas absorption vessel 6; the vessel contains a liquid e.g. citric acid and water solution, which absorbs and reacts with the gas, and a series of spaced apart perforated plates 8 which serve to break up the gas bubbles introduced into the liquid through perforations 10 in the conduit 7. The ammonia free air escapes from the top of the vessel adjacent to conduit 7 and is vented to the surrounding air by a blower 9.
