Abstract

1456115 Writing appliance Y MITSUYA 10 April 1974 16013/74 Heading B6P A mechanical pencil has a chuck 20 and a chuck closing member 21 able to move together to advance a lead 28 and lead protecting tube 13. The chuck 20 is further movable (see Fig. 2) to release the lead 28 to permit a stepwise feeding of the lead 28. The tube 13 has an enlarged portion 15 engaged by a ring 17 whose internal and external diameters permit it to touch the portion 15 only of the tube 13. The ring 17 provides sufficient weight to retract the lead 28 and tube 13 when the chuck is open and the writing point uppermost.
