Embroidery machines.-Relates to the shuttleoperating mechanism of embroidery machines of the kind comprising pins 1, 17 mounted on a reciprocating bar 3, the upper pins 1 being detachable to allow removal and displacement of the shuttle 9 in its race 10, and being normally held in position by a spring clip 18 and stud 17<1>. The invention consists in forming the bearing-surfaces between the pins 1 and the bar 3 of such a character that the wear due to repeated removal and replacement of the pins is automatically compensated and looseness of the pins prevented. Figs. 4 - - 8 show various methods by which the object of the invention is attained, 1 representing a pin and 3 the bar. In Fig. 4, the pin is substantially circular in section with a flat 7 engaging the inclined side 6 of a groove in the bar, the other side 4 of which is vertical. In Figs. 5 and 9 a circular pin rests in a V-shaped groove or on the upper edges of a rectangular groove. In Figs. 6 and 7, the pins are shown formed with bevelled sides engaging the sides of V-shaped grooves in the bar. In a modification, Fig. 8, the pins have V-shaped grooves engaged by projections 23 on the bar.
