Abstract
1455622 Lamps CAVIS-CAVETTI ISOLATI SpA 25 Jan 1974 [1 March 1973] 03476/74 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] The intensity of the light transmitted by a lamp 7 of constant intensity to a light-guide bundle 10 is regulated smoothly and progressively by varying the distance between the lamp and the terminal 9 of the bundle. The terminal 9 is held by a resilient cylindrical attachment 8 at one end of an opaque cylindrical body 1, the lamp base 3 being mounted in a cylindrical sleeve 2 at the other end of the body. The base 3 has a helical projection 3<SP>1</SP> engaging a helical groove 2<SP>1</SP> of relatively large pitch on the internal surface of the sleeve 2, so that when the lamp is rotated by means of a knob 6 it moves towards or away from the terminal 9. A flexible metal contact blade 4 on the base engages a current supply conductor 5 within the sleeve 2. In a modification (Figs. 4-6, not shown) the projection 3<SP>1</SP> is omitted and the base slides axially in the sleeve.
